Online Summer Tutors needed for
Mathematics, English and Science
SMC Teach is an initiative
created in response to national school closures around the world as a result of
COVID 19, which has been heavily impacting student’s education, mental health
and general outlook on life. We are looking for well-educated and energetic
online tutors to join our growing team who will motivate children to learn,
grow and thrive in a safe, supportive environment. Also, tutors must possess a
proven track record in one-on-one tutoring of students aged 11-16 years, the
highest level of clarity and professionalism in written and spoken English,
comfortable with modern peer-to-peer computer interfaces (teleconferencing) and
an expertise in one of the following areas of study:
+ ENGLISH
+ MATHEMATICS
+ SCIENCE
Responsibilities:
● Work with student to
develop a tutoring plan that fits student’s individual needs
● Prepare tutoring sessions
to ensure the student’s academic development
● Offer assistance with
developing study strategies
● Monitor the students’
progress throughout tutoring session and provide feedback
Requirements:
● Excellent written and
spoken communication skills (in English)
● Verifiable recognized
teaching qualification or current enrollment in university level education with
classroom experience and one-on-one tutoring either face-to-face or online
● Enthusiastic, engaging
and encouraging teaching style
● Excellent subject
knowledge with a proven track record of delivering to students aged 11 - 16
● Great organizational
skills and ability to understand student needs
● Strong passion for
teaching minds and touching lives
● Computer with working
camera and microphone
Hours:
● Flexible - You set your
schedule with students
Salary:
● Hourly rate: $750JMD
Start Date:
● July 11– August 26 2022.
