Sales & Merchandising Officer
A distribution company in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods sector is seeking an aggressive Sales & Merchandising Officer in the Western Division with experience in selling products to specific niche.
CORE FUNCTIONS:
Secure orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.
Service existing accounts and establish new accounts
Identify profitable target markets and or niche for the sales of goods and services
Conduct surveys and research that will inform clinical sales strategies
Execute direct promotions and guerilla marketing to the relevant target market
Analyze the territory/market’s potential and determine the value of existing and prospective customer’s value to the organization.
Plan and organize personal sales strategy by maximizing the Return on Time Investment for the territory/segment.
Participate in trade shows and conventions.
Market new customers to meet or surpass objectives
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
Certification in Marketing, Business Development, Sales Administration or a related field.
Project management skill set in multi-project environment
At least five progressive years in a Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry
At least five progressive years in a Sales environment
Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers (consultative sales approach).
Results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
Strong communication skills
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications and contact management software.
Has a valid driver’s license.
