AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE MANAGER & SENIOR AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN
HR Outsourcing Solutions is recruiting qualified Jamaican automotive service professionals for a leading automotive company in Grand Cayman. The positions are as follows:
AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE MANAGER
Core Function: The core function of the Service Manager is to ensure all vehicles are efficiently serviced in a timely manner to meet the wide-ranging service needs of our customers, ensure a profitably-run Service Department and manage highly motivated service technicians.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Specialised automotive education and training on all make vehicles but especially European make vehicles
Automotive Dealership training (formal or on-the-job)
At least five years’ prior experience in a similar role
Excellent customer relationship management and communication skills
Technical knowledge and expertise in managing and conducting vehicle inspections to identify faults, initiate and conduct repairs on a wide range of European vehicles in particular.
Proven leadership skills in managing all service-related activities of an automotive company or dealership to ensure efficient and seamless operations.
Summary of Duties:
Oversee service operations in the Company to ensure compliance with quality standards
Oversee the inspection of automobiles to identify faulty components and facilitate process for repairs
Supervise and evaluate the activities of automotive service technicians to ensure efficient job performance and timely repairs
Oversee the procurement of vehicle parts, automotive equipment and various other items required in an auto service department
Listen to client complaints and assist in addressing their issues and resolving challenges
SENIOR AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN
Core Function. Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, the Senior Automotive Technician will be an analytical and technical leader who is professional, highly organised, decisive and confident in his/her technical and leadership capabilities and mentor automotive technicians effectively.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
At least 12 years’ experience working in a full-service garage
Minimum 10 years’ experience working on Japanese, European and American vehicles
Dealership service department experience preferred
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Experience with the latest automotive technologies and working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
Advanced vehicle diagnostic and repair experience
Flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
Good work ethic and problem-solving skills
A positive attitude and works well as part of a team
Must possess excellent people management and customer relations management skills
Must be adept in the use of Mitchells Automotive Software application and any other software that may be acquired to enhance efficiency in the garage operations.
Summary of Duties
Providing repairs and diagnostics to a wide variety of vehicles but especially European-make vehicles.
Efficiently diagnose faults and ensure underlying problems are resolved
Operate automotive equipment to analyze data, carry out diagnostic test and the required repairs
Document all diagnostic procedures, findings, recommendations, and services performed in compliance with the procedures outlined by the company.
Learn new technical information and techniques in training sessions to stay current with rapidly changing technology.
Special Requirements Associated with the Role
The ability to work alternate Saturdays
Work includes movement around vehicles, working in various physical positions, and the safe operation of power tools and test equipment. May be exposed to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service and repair conditions.
